Cannot view videos on CTN

Is there a setting somewhere I need to toggle? Any video attachment, on any thread by any poster, just shows up as a black box that I can do nothing with. Do I need to download something in order to view them? Thanks in advance.

I'd try a different browser first. Some don't render "Flash" videos as well as others.

Check your security software. It may be set to block all videos or only to allow from specific sources like YouTube and Facebook.

Re videos.
I normally set my browser to lock down mode and block everything.

Normal for me:
When CTN web page show a video stream image, all I see is a 6"x6" black youtube screen and nothing else. I cannot click on any thing.
Blocking youtube video image stream allows the CTN web page to load about 10..15 times faster. ie no URL redirects.
To view a video I will right click on a video image,select the video URL, and then paste it to another browser window tab to open it.
I'm okay with this...


The other evening, "all" video streams where active, but the normal 6" black youtube screen had been replace with raw decode blocks of cipher text instead of an image. To the side of the raw blocks of text was a cartoon image of Coco the monkey, with a caption that read. "A highly trained team of Monkeys has been dispatched to fix the fault. If you see them can you show them this. (block of raw text I presume)"
I did find the figurative anecdote quite funny....

I figured the fault was on youtube end, because the image may have been decode/streamed via youtube first.

EDIT: Chrome works, IE does not! Simple as that.

I have had a lot of things where Chrome does not work. A lot of it might have to do with their built in add blocker. I have even had Add Block Plus cause entire web pages come up as a blank screen.

One thing that I have noticed lately, since a lot(almost all now) of newer videos on YouTube have a short advertisement at the start, if you have an ad blocker running, I use Ad Block Plus, the video will not play.

I see the clickable URL text only. No black video screen or video image.

I click the URL text and CTN then asks for confirmation to follow URL external link.
