    Unhappy Hit and run members?

I've noticed Copytechnet has a fair few members that are just 'one' post wonders.
And that 'one' post normally ends up as a request for a service manual.
It's my opinion these people have no intension of becoming helpful and contribruting members.

So I have another suggestion to help curb this kind of hit and run behaviour.

Can we have it so you cannot create a post in the request section
until you have the minimum of at least ten posts to your name?

    Thanks
    DaZ.

BTW I do not mind sharing service manuals etc with who I believe are legitimate technicians who are here to help and be helped.

Nope, not me. Just hit and run when its 12:00pm and only have 2 out of 5 service calls done for the day. Hah-hah. But I do agree with this, even though I am new. Been a member of a few forum's, and this is the best I have seen yet. However, the two things that bother me about all of these forum's is one-hit wonders who 1. only request manuals and 2. never reply that any of the suggestions fixed their issue or that they were able to resolve this issue at all.

me thinks this is customers trying to get info to keep from calling in a service call and doing things themselves.....

I agree, although a minimum of 10 posts maybe a bit much - maybe 5 posts? It is nice to know if the suggestions for fixes, etc. that we sometimes go to some effort to make are helping!

I suggested ten because it's fairly easy to spam your way to less posts.

But 5 is better than nothing so no problem here.

I have also been a little frustrated with the "Hit & Run" users not adding anything to the conversation so I really like this idea. It's not a simple change so we will be looking into how to do it and hopefully will have it figured out soon.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

OK, we made changes in the system to prevent new users from posting in the Service Manual Request forum, users must have 3 post AND must have been registered for at least 3 days before being able to post there. This should eliminate most of the hit and run users.
