    Rules ................. help needed

So where can I fine the rules??
I replied to a post and was "reported" for having broken the rules by another member "manuals4you" because I added a link to website that ....... surprize surprize had a link to a manual.
I think manuals4you got a bit upset ............ he said it was against the rules and I was ................
"NOT ALLOWED TO POST LINKS TO SITES WITH MANUALS"
Yet evey post "manuals4you" repies to ........... has a link to his/ her website.

Am I missing something............... or is Manuals4you also breaking the rules??

I'm still a newish member and would be really pleased if someone can adjudicate and tell me if I'm in violation of the rules and even where these rules can be found??
Or if there are other rules for senior members like "Manuals4you" who can indeed post replies with a link to a website that advertises manuals
    Thanks in advance
    Eddie

Maybe this can clear up the air of what can be posted and attached.
Manuals should not be given for free even though some of us have access for free.
Once a end user gets a manual, they think that they can handle such issues that arise.

    Two things out of this...

One, it causes more issues for the user.

    Two, its bad for business!

OK I posted a couple of days ago and I cannot find it anywhere. If it has been removed for whatever reason shouldn't I be informed? Being new to this site I don't know the rules either though I did take notice of the post by Aneurysm to the effect that there have been extensive upgrades to the system. I had a problem with my post and didn't receive acknowledgement that it took so I tried again, twice, only to switch browsers as Opera has a few glitches and I thought that would solve the problem only to find when logging in with FireFox that it took each time. I wasn't the only one with that problem as there was another user with three posts in a row. Do I have to be a PAID supporter of this site to be treated with respect? I understand that newbies make mistakes and as such should be schooled with the same courtesy and respect that the oldies demand for themselves. Are you, manuals4you, the only member that can offer manuals for members and how did you attain that status? Your flippant attitude is appalling and you should check yourself as you are living on God's time just like the rest of us.

You can do all the trading you want. I do extensive trading myself. You may NOT post links to other manuals sites or to manuals themselves.

    Forum Rules:
Just a quick note regarding the posting of copyrighted material, or to be more specific, the posting of Service manuals on this site.
Cut-and-Paste of a few pages to help someone out = OK
Posting an entire service manual or a direct link to it = NOT OK

All I did was to try and help someone........ it was never my intention to break the rules or to advertise or to give away copyrighted material. It was only a link .......... which is still there.
If it was wrong and so bad and I've broken the rules...... why is that link still on the forum?
I think it has got blown out of all proportion.
I've been striped of my Rep power......... and reported .... just because I tried to help someone.
That'll teach me to try and help anyone in the future.
I'm pleased to see that I'm not alone in thinking that certain "paid members" think they can bully and report junior members for innocent mistakes.
I'm a member of other similar forums, ....... but they treat ALL members with the same respect and there is no bullying and innocent mistakes are treated as innocent mistakes and any privileges or high scores are not taken away.
Thanks to the other junior members (You know who you are) who have let me know I'm not alone.

wizard, you just had the same misfortune we all had over the Saturday and Sunday. It's not about you. The whole website did not accept posts for ~48 hours. Just relax...

    =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
