    Reputation and Reputation Power explained

A few words about Reputation and Reputation Power.

Reputation is just like it sounds, it is the amount of reputation points you have accumulated over time here at Copytechnet. Your reputation points are indicated by the green blocks under your username in your posts, you get a green block for every 100 reputation points. if your reputation score shows red blocks under your username then you have been hit by others so many times that your reputation score is actually a negative number.

Your Rep Power is the amount of reputation-altering power you have when you approve or disapprove someones post on the site. Your Rep Power is affected by the factors indicated below.
    Register Date Factor:
For every 180 days since your initial registration you gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.

    Post Count Factor:
For every 100 posts you gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.

    Reputation Point Factor:
For every 100 points of reputation you gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.

    Minimum Post Count:
You must have 10 posts before your reputation hits count for or against others.
For more info you can look in the FAQ's under Reputation

Thanks for the explanation. That is completely different than what I thought.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

Me too - I was under the impression that a drunken midget would get at the admin's computer and bash keys at random while no one else was looking.

    Now I'm enlightened!

I still would like to know why my reputation is red. It has been this way for at least 4 years, ever since I had a debate about requests for information ( cannon service tool) with the member that sold service manuals ( sorry I'm horrible with names)...I may be wrong , but it seems I got severely dinged for having a difference of opinion in an open forum...Doesn't seem right...
