I think the theory is that when you reply you are replying the the entire thread but when you Reply with quote you are replying the the specifically quoted items in a particular post. I'm not saying that it's better or worse like that but it's just my theory. It does not effect us too much here because everyone is defaulted to a "linear" thread view but if you use the old school "threaded view" it throws off the order of the posts, see the picture below for what the threaded view looks like.

I will take a look to see it there is a setting to put the reply button back in the posts.

Threaded view (this can be set in your forum general settings).
    Thanks Aneurysm,
I didn't say that bothers me, just comment
(Didn't see it on upper and lower left of the pages)

    Good work
    Cheers

Is it possible to go back to the old editor?

Re: Updates & New WYSIWYG editor

My home PC and work laptop are both WinXP Professional 32-bit. I don't know which version of Firefox at work, but at home I had to downgrade to Firefox 3.6.18, because it was conflicting with the login procedures of another forum.

As a work-around, I have found that if I type a few characters, then click Preview, I get full edit-ability again, and can finish my post without aggravation. Thanks for taking it seriously. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Nope, we are committed to the new stuff. The old editor had issues with some newer browsers and it was limited in respect to the newer browser technology that is being developed. This is the first intergration of this editor and future updates will add even more features and functionality. It will also come in handy with some of the blogging and content management options within our software that we haven't rolled out yet. (Are there any industry related bloggers out there looking for a home?)

Someone's got to take you seriously around here (just kidding). I hate doing major updates like this but hopefully everything works out in the end. We are paying pretty good money for the software packages and hosting packages we currently have and we just want to make sure we are getting the most bang for our buck while keeping it fresh and engaging for our customers (the users). If you want to see what life looks like without updates you can take a trip back to the early 1990's over at Smarka or the copier network.

Thanks for the input, keep it coming.

Just noticed the Arcade is disabled. Doesn't bother me really, just thought I'd point it out in case you hadn't noticed.

We shut them down for the update and we need to do a little more work before we turn them back on. We should have them going in a few days.

Re: Updates & New WYSIWYG editor

To anyone having issues with the cursor etc. (Blackcat) the top left option "Switch Editor to Source Mode" fixes all the issues mentioned above, essentially turning it into the old reply system.

I've had this issue with FF 3.6, but not Chrome or Iron browsers... Potential issue in the older source of FF 3.6?
