    "Like" counter

    I noticed there was a "Like" counter, obviously self explanatory... What is the purpose of this counter? If there's a record being kept of how many "likes" someone receives as an individual, could we not add a "Most 'liked' user" tally at the bottom in the stat window, similar to top referrers, top posters, top reputations etc....

    It might be interesting to see who's really "liked".

    Re: "Like" counter

    When you click the button on a post to say you "Like" it, it's counted under Likes Given.
    When someone else clicks the "Like" button on one of your posts, it's counted under Likes Received.

    Unlike Reputation Points, "Likes" are not anonymous. You'll see whom you "Liked", and who "Liked" you. You can "Like" a post only once. Or remove you're "Like", but no negative responses, and no comments.
    Simple. =^..^=

    If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

    I'm fully aware of all of the above, I'm not sure how long it keeps a record of each individual like as I never bothered to check. Thanks for the clarification post about how the "Like" feature works though! Should help some newer users understand it.

    My question was related specifically to the counter. What's the purpose of the "like" counter and the like history if not solely for personal satisfaction? I was thinking it might be pertinent if not at least interesting to perhaps add a top x "likes" counter on the site, similar to the top posts, top referrers, top reputations etc.

    Just a question of curiosity, but I've heard numerous people refer to reputation points as being anonymous. I've not experienced this. With every reputation "Point" I am given or loose, the site tells me exactly who it was that did it. Am I the only one here?

    Maybe a difference in settings? I can see the identity of rep's given, but not the identity of rep's received.

    Indeed you are Blackcat.

    I noticed rep is anonymous, so I've been making the extra little effort to attach my name to rep given lately as some of you may or may not have already noticed.
