Not sure if this has been addressed before (I'm too lazy to research), but a chat feature might be cool.
Something for techs to pop in on in the evenings, blow off steam, brainstorm, get to know each other, etc.
Just a thought.

That's a flamin' good idea.
Up to my nuts in toner and loving it!
We have looked a few options for a chat room but they tend to be resource hogs and they caused problems with the limited resources we had available on our old server. The was also the problem of people constantly posting technical questions in the chat room and therefore defeating the purpose of the forum. We have recently moved to a new faster server that will probably give us the capability to add chat functionality without dragging everything else down with it.
We are currently working on a new graphics package for the site that should be ready to roll out in a week or two (I will post a few screen shots in the next few days to get everyone's input). After that we can possibly start testing out a chat room.
Thanks for your input, sorry it took a while to get a reply!!

Snap, Crackle, Aneurysm!
I'd love to see a chat room but how do we keep those nasty End Users out???
By the way...love the site.
Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.
Maybe set-up something were you cannot join the chat room unless you have "X" number of posts or something like that. Might be hard to manage like that, or hey... even better... make it by invite only! If you want to join the chat room, you have to send a PM to Aneurysm or another admin and they can check your credentials. From that, they can allow users access to the room or not.
Either way, I feel it would be a real PITA to manage at times.
I don't know... just thinking out loud here.![]()
