I need the optical shaft for this machine, i think the part number is A2931711 the one that the two optical pullys goes on.The screw broke off in it and the shaft needs to be replaced.I would like a used one but will take a new one or if someone can tell where to buy it from.

There are two ways to fix this.
Take the shaft to a local machine shop. They'll weld a bolt to the stub and back out the broken piece. It's slicker than snot!
Or you can drill out the old screw and run a 4mm tap through to clear the threads. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

i assume its fixed by now, but there was a modified (hardened) screw to prevent this problem. also a mod for 1 of the pcb's to prevent scanner crash.

I was a installing M3 x 0.5 pitch x 10mm length Allen bolts as replacements, quite a while ago. They never break.

Sorry about the incorrect tap size in the previous post. =^..^=
