Toshiba e-Studio 550 / GL 1020

Hi,
Well I'm new to these forums so this would be my first question and first post so please bare with me. I'm not a trained Copier engineer and am actually an IT Engineer but have been dragged onto an issue involving a Toshiba e-Studio 550 scanning issue.
The problem was originally something to do with the Scan Log reaching 999 entries and then the controller would crash and need to be re-formatted and then have the sofware re-installed. This has been done to death but now a different error has occured (to my knowledge..but then again it could be the same error).
Basically the copier is on a Windows 2003 Network using the Scan to File function and it is then scanning to individual folders on multiple client PC's. This has been working flawlessly until recently where in the scan log whenever a scan is sent we get the following log:

"Failed in converting image file format"

I've seached as much as I can for the error and just can't seem to find much so I found these forums during my searches and a lot of you seem a lot more knowledgeable with these machines than I so I would appreciate any help you can offer me.

Thank You

Tom

If you are scaning to a shared folder on the network change the destination to the controller shared folder (\\controller ip\gl_shared) and see if you still have the same problem. If that is the case, I may have a defective memory chip or defective scan partition on controller HDD.

Thanks for the speedy response.

Yeah we tried scanning to the local hard drive and it worked perfectly without any errors (and was our temporary fix so that they could scan).

What version of the os is on the controller?
The newest fixed the scan log error and a few other issues as well
It is version 2.3.9.14 and is a linux subset for security.

Yup the version they last used when re-installing the software was 2.3.9.14-501e (well thats the filename of the ISO at least). So I'd assume it has the latest OS on it as well.

GL 1020

Did the issue started after upgrading to 2003 server?

If that is the case and win 2003 is running in Mixed Mode try the following:

Go to the Domain Controller security settings and under local policies/ security options change "Microsoft network server: Digitally sign communications (always) from enabled to disabled and "microsoftnetwork server: Digitally sign communications (If client agrees) from enabled to disabled.

Hope this will help.
