Toshiba 2500c email issues

I have a question regarding the email function of the 2500c copier.

I got the smtp and pop3 info from the customer that I am trying to set this up on, and tried to enter this info in the copier. I don't really know the correct input area that I should be using.

What information should be included in the smtp server, client, and pop3 portion of the topaccess of this machine.

for reference, the machine is on a private network (possibly behind a linksys router using the 192.168.1.1 gateway). NAT should not be an issue. Also, I have the same ISP as the customer, and i can connect my laptop to the network and access my email just fine.

Any Ideas?

in the log, the copier shows that it could not contact the smtp server. wierd huh?

For scan to e-mail you need to put the following.
you need an IP, Subnet mask, Default gateway, DNS if you are going to use the server name if not then just ping the SMTP server name and get the IP from the replies.

The next thing I would do is from TopAccess:
log in to the macine,

under "Setup" select "Network" and you need the following:
under SMTP Client - make sure that it is enabled, and type the SMTP server name or the IP address, if it requires authentication make sure you put that in there and make sure you have the right port by default it should be 25

SMTP Server, here you can type the e-mail address for the machine.

then hit e-mail and type the e-mail address there.

that should be it.

if this didn't help then go to job status select scan. it will tell you if it fail. you can also select log and then scan it will show you a code that will help you alot.

Well, I have the entire TopAccess of that machine saved, and I noticed that the DNS server name was typed wrong. I am sure that this is what is preventing me from access to mail.server.com. Thanks for the help. I didn't think to check the accuracy of the DNS.

I love this place.
