    e-355, C-440 plus meltdown...

OK, the first time I responded to this call, I replaced the Thermistors, never realizing that the rollers had fused together and would not turn, which was pretty obvious once I had the unit back in the machine! Then, I took the fuser to the shop and rebuilt it with new parts, returned to the customer, and reinstalled it. Ran about 50 pages, left and the customer called back, same ratcheting noise (fuser locked up again). SO... Has anyone had trouble with the Triac/Regulators on the Power Supply, sticking on and causing a meltdown? Fuse(s) never blew, by the way.
    Thanks in advance,
    OC

I'd say your chances are 50/50 between the LVPS and the logic board.

Either the controller is telling the LVPS to keep the heaters on continuously, or the controller is telling the heaters to shut off, then they don't.
I think I'd make the logic board my first attempt. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Just got off the phone with Hytec support. Looks like the LVPS is defective, and the Triac/Regulator was telling the fuser to stay ON, when it shouldn't have been. Going out to swap the LVPS this week to see what happens.

Have had this same problem happen, what we found out is the ground place on the bottom and back of fuser unit, is not making good contact, there are a few tech pub's about this, on the back of fuser, there is a ground spring, looks like a little A shaped metal plate, Toshiba says to pop it out, its only screwed down on one side, pop it out so it makes more positive contact to the machine frame where the fuser mounts, look on that plate, you can usually see a mark, take some fine emery cloth or brown scotch brite, that's what I use, and clean that area for a better contact.
On the cover of the fuser on the rear frame side, where all the connectors are, there is a little plate under it, when you put the cover back on make sure the cap catches the tab, and you don't trap the plate inside the cover, can cause problems such as described.
