EStudio 556 jamming when waking up

Every time this unit wakes up it jams on the first copy out. Clear the jam, it runs all day. I notice the stapler is in the middle of finisher even though it was not supposed to staple. Just a list print job, or simple copy job.
    Any ideas. Firmware is 2001.

...nope. I'm not picking up anything with my psychic powers. You'll just have to tell me the jam code. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

A ton of E010 and E5A0. Replaced exit sensor (top one on left door), and cleaned all other sensors. The stapler unit seems to always be in the middle of the finisher, even though not calling for staples. And like I said, only on wake up, remove the jam and it will run all day until it goes back to sleep.

Re: EStudio 556 jamming when waking up

E5A0 combined with E010 has come up for me at a school, which does a lot of copying of books. Many of the pages have 12mm of black borders on three sides. To make it worse there was no lead edge void. So I did the image adjustments, making the voids 2mm at the front and rear and 3.5mm at lead and trail. Then I set up a "Useful Template" to border erase 12mm. Then it would copy anything they could come up with. All we need now is the endusers to select the template.

The other case of E5A0 was a problem with the web advance. During the last fuser rebuild one of the pins backed out of the web advance motor connector. So at 250K the web was brand new, and the heat roller was toast. Only by accident did I come across the loose pin.

OK, I think the error code is a fluke. The first copy of the function list upon wake up enters the finisher, the second copy is at the top of the right side just going into machine. Should it be that far behind the first copy, or should it be at the transfer belt area? Could it be a registration problem? Logic? I updated firmware to latest today. No help.

Re: EStudio 556 jamming when waking up

Is it a humid environment? During warmup from sleep mode, condensation can collect on the metal fuser guides. The first page can get "stuck" in the condensation. By the time that jam has cleared most of the condensation is gone.

What I would do is ask the customer to leave the machine asleep until I arrived first call. When I arrived, I would wake up the machine but not print. Immediately when warmed up, I would open the imaging drawer and inspect the fuser guides. If they're wet with condensation ... there you go.

Oh, you want a solution? Um, 1) wake up the machine, 2) wait 15 minutes, 3) make your first print of the day.
