    tosh 556 web advance problems

we've got a 556 that advances the web in the test mode but it appears it's not advancing during a typical copy run. I've changed out the fuser unit and has no effect on the problem. has anyone seen this before? thanks in advance

Re: tosh 556 web advance problems

I had an eS857 do this about 100K after a PM. The web had not advanced at all, and the fuser didn't look good. While rebuilding it I found this:

    eS857 no web advance.jpg

Apparently, one of the pins backed out of the connector during re-assembly. But them this motor would not run in 03 mode.

Have you compared the 08 mode values for web advance to the default? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

That sounds like a "6" series. All it needs to be complete is E010 jams. =^..^=
