Very weird, had 2 x 5055 (6 months old ish) and a new E-5005 50 copies from install jamming at diverter as exiting fuser.
All different customers...
Jam code is E570 .
Anyone else had this.
Cleaned bushes etc all running freely also solenoid on diverter.
The 5005 had the cover on paper exit fitted incorrectly( wedged behind inside rear cover ) causing diverter solenoid to sit skewed... From factory ! Not been to 5055 yet .

Check noise reduction foam at gate solenoid, this become sticky because of the heat from fuser also jamming this could be intermittent.

I've seen this 4 times now on the eS4555C family and it's been the same thing every time. Apparently a tech pockets the exit cover, perhaps because it's less convenient to re-assemble the exit assembly. All these machines had bridges, so it's not as easy to get to the screws to remove and re-install that cover.Originally Posted by knobby
That cover serves an additional purpose (other than annoying this tech). It secures the duplex solenoid to the exit assembly. Without the cover the solenoid sits in there loosely, doesn't quite fall out.
The typical customer complaint is misfeeds the first page of duplex. After the first page is removed, it seems to work fine, until it sits idle for a while (typical solenoid failure symptoms).

1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Nice one Blackcat, I will keep that in mind. The solenoid has been changed to a countermeasure one by making the fixing damper bigger to slot in properly.

I rarely work on Toshy now but think I would like to thank BC.
This is exactly what we saw today. Our solution was to add pressure on contact points of cover and we will see in few days how it holds. In any case Blackcat is extremely helpful and more importantly good human being.

Yep, I've seen that MANY times. I just remove it and let them put up with the noise.
They "did" update it and it now has a piece of hard plastic over the foam, to prevent it
from sticking, but, with the age of those machines, I just tell the techs to peel it off and
tell the customer to not worry about it, OR UPGRADE.
We carry cork pad material which you can get in big sheets for cheap.
cut to fit and cyanoacrylate or 3m tape - never will be a problem again.
