Post e35 black screen when turning on

I have an estudio 35 that get's a black screen as soon as it powers on. The fans come on but there is nothing on the screen and no lights. Sometimes the machine starts up fine and runs all day. After looking for shorted out blocks and broken wires I come up empty, I'm leaning toward system board. I'm taking a system board and hard drive out Friday. Any other suggestions?

Looks like you are on right way.Together with these 2 you may need to get and Power Supply Board.

    Good luck

I'll grab a power board too. We have enough junk models from that series to find some good parts to take with me.

System board and a flash fixed it. We actually had the problem twice in the same week.
