Question e-Studio 350 TopAccess not responding

I'm trying to get an e-Studio 350 configured on a peer-to-peer network with Windows XP workstations.

Attempting to access TopAccess either on port 80 or port 8080. Browser hangs with no response on either port.

Machine is configured with a static (manual) ip address, netmask, gateway. I can ping the machine and it will respond.

    Http access is enabled.

Workstation print drivers can search network and find the printer.

I've had success configuring this on other 350's.

Was it something I said (or didn't say)?

can you get in to top access through a laptop via crossover cable? if not, you maybe looking at a problem HDD or may need to reload the firmware. if the HDD has been replaced at some point, someone may not have reloaded the HDD firmware / OS.

    Update

Thank you both for your suggestions.

On a different es350, I checked process to print configuration page
    User Functions >> Admin (+password) >> List /Report >> List >> NIC config,
    from there report prints

I went to print out configuration page:
User Functions >> Admin (+password) >> List /Report >> List >> NIC config, got the usual message "List print is reserved" and nothing happened. Tried again, nothing happened.

[Note: in Service Handbook, v12 Nov 2003, page 5-131 it says to follow the sequence noted in first paragraph with
    • Press the [FUNCTION] button. The list is outputted.
I did not press the [FUNCTION] button, the failure to print could be a machine problem or could also be an operational difference due to software revision.]

Put a page on the glass and did a normal copy, copier part is working.

Powered off, powered on, got 5 long beeps (probably not a good sign, have not found reference to beep codes in manuals yet). Message "Network Initializing" seemed to stay on for a long time. Attempted to print NIC configuration again, same results as before.

Did another power cycle, got 5 beeps, still could not print NIC configuration.

They asked if I tried power off/power on, I said yes, they powered off/powered on, machine came up without 5 beeps (figures ). Message "Network Intializing" seemed to stay on for a long time.

[Note: Operators Manual for Basic Function identifies power off process, this process had not been followed.]

Based on this we are obtaining system restore cdrom and will restart the machine clean.

It is a small network, 3 workstation computers connected to Linksys router, then to DSL connection. There are no server computers on the network. What is the end of your suggestion "... do not use proxy server beginning with...." ?

    Hi,

In column below " do not use proxy start beginning" input your ip address, but as you mentioned before if this small network and do not use proxy, ignore my suggestion before. try checked and update firmware of the machine.

OK, i had something like that. It was 280 but the same thing.
You have to reload firmware (all).
If you get succesful message after reload firmware it should be OK later.
If you get error on NIC firmware loading you have to change your NIC (In E-Studio of course:P ).

Check for the print enabler. Looks like a thumb drive connected just above or below the network port. If it is not there then the nic card will not print the nic setup sheet or accept print jobs but can be "found" and pinged on the network..
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!
