I have successfully updated one machine that was throwing a F501 code. I did the HDD diagnostics and it read it didn't need replacing. Trying to recover the files didn't work. I simply formatted, and installed the new firmware from USB. After redoing the IP and SMB everything is working fine. I am awaiting the "wipe drives". I believe I will be successful.
With the right drives and firmware, nothing to it. The only thing you lose is the IP address and SMB as far as machine parameters. Two down , one to go!Originally Posted by blackcat4866

2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.

Got it all done. Thank you for the firmware and the advice. I think it's a shame most of it came from out of the country.

I have it for the 2540,3040,3540....I believe that it is the same as the 4540C.
If not mistaken, there are 2 types of firmware.
e2040/2540/3040c belong to low version
e3540/4540c belong to high version
Well in that case I guess I don't have what you need, sorry.
