ES456 doc fdr MR3021, slow feeds? Line on lead edge of copy

This is an intermittent problem. I just sold this machine and it did not display this type of problem while I was preping
it for sale. And I ran about 500 pages through the feeder without a line on the page.
I can run his machine and it seldom shows. As soon as he runs it, the line appears.
His settings are NON Sort/NON Staple, 1-2 sided, text.
I have gone over the adjustments twice now to make sure it did not move during shipping. I used the pegs on the hinge
to align it to the glass. After that I re-adjusted for a straight copy. Before this the line was only down part of page. About
2 or 3mm from the edge.
It looks to me like a slow feed. The mylar guides to the scan glass were a little wrinkled. I was able to cut the worst parts
out. Not very much really. I checked and cleaned the rollers while I had the guide off. The other day I was out and took the
one-way pulley off for the registration roller and cleaned and re-lubed it. I did scuff the shaft with a file as it was very smooth and
shinny. I ran 50 or 60 pages through the feeder, no problem. The first set he ran, had the line. Only now it was all the way down
the page. At least it was straight. So I'm inclined to think that rules out the mylar guide to the glass.
My question is how many of us have had this problem and did replacing the one-way pulley fix it?
Or is there something I overlooked?
Yes I do have both manuals for the main frame and the feeder.

    Thanks

    DR

Hi Dr, there is a 05 code to adjust to resolve this issue. Something along the lines of transport speed of DoC feeder set to 14

Try 05-359. Black slit glass adjustment. 128-132.

    SalesServiceGuy,
Thank you for your reply. It lead me to a "Duh" moment. I found the adjustment in the manual for the doc feeder.
It is not in the main frame manual. But I had enough clues to find and use the adjustment.
I decreased the setting by 10 and let the customer test it. Seems like it's doing fine now. But this customer is known
for running the machine in odd modes that create problems.
    Only time will tell.

    Thank you very much

Here is something a friend shared with me on this model, to get into the svc mode.

    press Additional function
    # 1048 # hold down
Then you go into the svc mode. Make a selection, then make another selection.
It will give you the program numbers for the adjustments for your selection.

This is when I look it up in the book to see what the parameters are for that adjustment.

Being an indy, this was very helpful. Hope it helps someone else.

Works on 40-50 series machines, the 20 series lets you print test pages, you also have to wait until the network has initialisation has completed

If you mean a line on the trailing edge of page it's almost always due to height adjustment of the ADF (trailing edge of paper curls and lifts off the glass if the front or rear of ADF is not in contact with the glass).

As per manual make adjustments in this order:

    Alignment (using pins)
    Height
    Skew
    Leading Edge (Horizontal)
    Top (Vertical)
    Ratio

99% of techs when setting these get to within a 5mm margin of error and go "good enough!", but as soon as you scan in colour or have documents with very small margins you start to notice the alignment issues.
No, I will not send you Manuals, Software or your own little repair Genie to fix all your problems for you.
