Toshiba 5560, machine keeps saying "close frontdoor"

Toshiba 5560, machine keeps saying "close frontdoor" however all doors are closed. Couldn't go deep into it yet but a quick look indicated that the interlock switch of the right hand small frontdoor was actuated and clicking, the interlock switch of the left hand large frontdoor I could measure and seemed operative as well. The interlock switch of the side door from the high capacity cassette was also actuated. Any idea's where to look for? Anymore interlock switches I overlooked? Any other reasons for this indication in the display? Hans

Hans you may look at fuser, old Toshibas use to chain 24V via fuser so bad thermostat will be the fault, also check thermistors for cracks in their connectors, it also could be transformer at the bottom of rear cover.
Hope that helps it was a time since I touch any of these but someone can shed more light, keep us informed and good luck.

I agree with tsbservice, and digging through my analog stuff I came up with this old TechNet article:

7550 ~ 5560 CLOSE FRONT COVER
We’ve received a number of support calls regarding a display of “Close Front Cover” on 7550,7560,5560 and 6560 copiers.
Some items known to cause this problem are:
! Fuser unit thermostat
! MC relay transformer
! Fuse 403 on the power supply PCB
! Front door switch
! Clamshell switch
! MC relay

If the thermostat has failed, check the fuser for evidence of overheating, and check the thermistors and SSRs for a short.

Refer to page 16-4 of the 7550 Service Manual for info on the MC Relay, Thermostat, Left Door Switch, and Clamshell. As you’ll see, the MC Relay Coil, Thermostat, Left Door Switch, and Clamshell Switch are in series. If any of these items are open, you’ll get the “Close Front Cover” message.

Refer to page 16-8 of the 7550 Service Manual for info on the MC Relay Transformer. The transformer supplies 100VAC to the MC Relay Coil.
Check the output of the transformer by measuring between J305-9 (gray wire) and J305-8 (purple wire), with all of the doors closed, to insure you have 100V AC.

Sorry about the formatting, I just cut and pasted this from a PDF.
