    Toshiba E-studio 555 line

    Attach is a sample.

The line is fuzzy and it is "waving", it is not straight, it is 1/3" from front, it is left to right on letter size or ledger size as they lay on the exit tray.

Troubleshoot included stopping the paper in the middle of cycle, there is no visible line on the paper before it exit the fuser, there is no visible line on the fuser rollers and that my problem, no line on the teflon.

I remove the oil roller unit, the fuser upper separators unit, replace the drum and cleaning blade - still the line is there.

All copies were done with blank original, there was no difference for the line position when using reduction mode.

It is all pointing to the upper fuser roller just 2 problem with it - no visible line on the roller and the line is "waving" (what made me suspect the fuser separator unit, but the line was still there without the unit).

    Any idea?
    Thanks

Are you sure when you stop the paper under the drum the line is no visible?

None that I could see with very close observation.

stop the machine when the paper is under the drum unit... desassempbly and check the drum if has the line..
i believe the problem is in the drum , developer unit no in the fuser..

It kind of looks like a cleaning blade line. I am not sure on that model but on many models the cleaning blade moves back and forth and would make a wavy line like that.

you can flip the drum end for trouble shooting, if I remember right.

The drum blade does not oscillate front to rear, but ... The drum separation claws do! I would take a closer look at the drum separation claws. Maybe something got snagged in the assy like a scrap of paper during a drum wrap? That 's my WAG. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Re: Toshiba E-studio 555 line

I have seen something similar and it kicked my tail for a while.

Hair/fuzz bunny in the laser slit glass that would oscillate.

You could stop the paper before fusing and not see it but once the paper went into the fuser the line would show up.

the blade doesn't oscillate on that model and the drum claws are not to the edge like that. I'd take out the laser, take out the slit glass - it stays in the machine - and give them a look.

After that I would look at the sealing mylars of the drum cleaning and developer sections then the transfer belt unit then the developer magnet rollers and bushings.

I don't think you have a fusing issue, the toner that's getting on the page is just hard to see...try running colored paper, like pink.

    Re: Toshiba E-studio 555 line

    Correction:
The line is before the fuser unit.
I had to block the paper from entering the fuser to see the line, if I stop the machine in the middle of the run it never show before the fuser, even with magnifiers.

I replace the drum and the blade, took out the blade's cover mylar, reverse the drum - the line is there.

I'll try next the laser unit.

    Thank you all.

My friend check the developer unit... the line in the paper is toner or developer?
maybe you have problem in main charger and developer magnetic line.
