    BAPHOMET;

    By any chance would you know how much an AGP board cost?

    The AGP card used in SC2 is very old (AGP 2x ).I think you can find it in used PC (with CPU pentium III or older ) only.You should check RAM (item#13).It is SDRAM PC100 ,128 or 256MB ,very old too .

    I truly need help. I replaced both RAM strips in the controller and it still beeps and I still get an error message that the controller is not connecting ti the copy machine.

    I finally called for service from Toshiba and two service men came down after about 2 hours and numerous phone calls, they cane to theconclusion that the problem is in the mother board of the controller. they further told me that the cost of a repacement mother board waed $1,500.00 plus labor to instal and test.

    I asked then could it be the AGP board and they said no, because the problem is that the controller can not communicate with the copy machine.

    As of today i have not been able to locate either a new or used controller.

    Since you work for toshiba do you have any suggestions, for i sure would like to be able to print feom my computer network to my Toshiba.

    I found the beep codes for the z4 controller, I am thinking they will be the same. This should lead you to the problem:

    BAPHOMAT:

    Thanks foir the information oabout the beep code., But as expected the beeps that i am getting are a continuous like the morse code letter"A", dit da dit da di da di da di da. There are no pauses. The only change is when i turn the controller on without the copy machine on after about 10 seconds the controler beeps once like it always did that a few seconds latter it starts the "di da dida dida dit da......" until I turn the controller off by pusing the power on button button. There are no pauses and it is continuous.

    Consequently we do know a lot.

    1) We know that the Vuideo card appears to be OK;

    2) We know that the two Ram strips also appears to be OK;

    3) We know that the battery appears to be OK;

    4) At the present time we do NOT know what is causing the BEEPING and we do NOT know why I can not print from my network.

    I may have a Phd in engineering and cheistry, but I gave up a long tine ago when I took my high school son to the COMDEX show in Las Vegas when he started explaing some of the hardware to me and I did not know what he was talking about.

    I know that I will be showing my ignorance when I say that I do not know what is the "DIMM(s)" and Fiery "Z4

    I did however check the batter voltage and it is 3.11 volts and the battery is marked 3.0 volts. There for it is my understanding that the battery is not the problem.

    I read over the various beep codes and none of the codes listed comes close to my (di da di da) beeps.

    The last thing that brothers me, two experience techs from Toshiba were not able to locate the cause of the beeps, and further they could not find any other techs, on the telephone. None of them ever had a E-Studeo 80 copy machine beep the way my copy machine is beeping.

    So the bottom line is? GOOD TRY BUT NO CIGAR.

    BAPHOMET:

    I have had it. ihave now decide to use the 40 some odd years of engineering experience and solve the the problem why I can not print to my network with my Toshiba E-Studio 80 copy machine.

    In stead of spending approximately $5,000.00 on a replacement used copy machine, and then try to sell my E-Studio 80 machine, I have decieded that since my Toshiba machine copies well, but I can not print from my network I am goinmg to buy a new HP B&W printer that I can connect to my network. I can then print from my computer via my network to my new HP printer. If I either need additional copies I can make then on my toshiba copy machine. If I need copies that are printed on the front and back side I can also do that by taking the copy that I made on my new HP printer and print as many copies back to back on my Toshiba copy machine. This solution will cost me approximately $320.00 instead of $5,000.00 along with all the associated headaches of buying and the instaling a new used Toshiba copy machine that has problems that I am not aware of.

    The fact that my Toshiba copy machine can not print from my network because I can not stop the dam controller from beeping is no longer a problem. I will further pull out the power cord from the cotroller and I will no longer hear the blasted beeping.
