    Toshiba E-studiio 457 CDF0

Tthis machine went down with the CDF0 error code and I checked the connectors and wiring between the mot2,lgc, and oct boards. I also removed to boards and checked for visible damage. I tried a spare working offset gate motor to no avail. I was hoping someone could offer assistance, I probably have overlooked something simple.

The main things that happen to those shifter sections are that they warp badly due to fuser heat. And when you install the exit section you have to align the linkage between the drive motor and the sliding section.

The best thing that you can do is order up the shifter assembly, then make sure you get the linkage aligned. I've come up with some mods, but they're hardly worth the trouble on an old warped unit. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Sometimes it can be as simple as checking to see if the jogger slides smoothly from left to right. The bushings can gum up and severely restict the movement of the jogger. Considering that it is a 457 series it I would hope that the jogger would not be in as bad a shape as the older previous series.

The jogger moves freely and the unit is not warped, is there a chance it is a bad sensor and is there any way to test the sensor? Also thanks for your responses, I am a rookie copier tech having to learn the ins and out of machines made by 5 manufacturers with no guidance.

I have never had to replace the sensor on the jogger assy. Not to say that it could'nt be bad. I would also check your connectors again and make sure no pins are bent. You should try and get a service manual for this series if you are going to be regularly working on them.

I have the service manual and I checked all the connectors from the exit to the boards.

If it moves freely it's not linked to the motor. =^..^=

It is fixed, thanks for the advice. I cant believe I had overlooked something so Obvious. My first month repairing office equipment has been a whirlwind of confusion and frustration.

Please share what it was. We've all done stupid mistakes over the years and sharing them with others could help somebody avoid the issue down the line.
Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"?

It can be tough when you're first learning, especially when you feel like you have been thrown into the deep end of the pool. Everyone who does this for a living is constantly learning and sometimes relearning the same things. But, making mistakes is how we all learn. Hang in there!
