Dislikes: Door switches check out, fuses are good. Any help much appreciated.
Another company had a tech out, they said they replaced all the door switches and the dc power supply.

One thing I noticed is the only other door that will display a "cover open" message is the duplex outside cover, nothing shows with adf, front door, finisher, lower right door. Not sure if that is abnormal.
There isn't a third duplex unit door switch that I'm not seeing is there? I only found the 2 120v safety switches, one on frame towards lower back side of right side, and the other up in front next to fuser that the bridge unit also actuates?
Another thing I noticed is fans come on when I actuate the upper front switch.

The thing that I noticed was that the switch itself isn't the problem, it's the actuator lever that operates the switch:
From the database:
"Call For Service C471". Right side lower rear interlock is not made during initialization. One of the shoulder screws is backed out, letting the actuator swing aside. Re-position right side lower rear interlock actuator. Re-install or replace shoulder screw. Reset error in 08-400.

I appreciate the reply black cat, but I have manually actuated the switches and verified voltages when doing so, close duplex unit message never goes away

That answers my next question. If the 24v supply voltage to the interlock is missing you can get the same result.

I haven't been onsite yet to verify this, but it looks like it may be a sensor instead of interlock switch that is detecting the duplex unit being open.

Perhaps a disfunctional Sharp 73 sensor? We've all seen plenty of those, all over the machine. =^..^=

Sure enough, didn't realize there was a gate in what I would call the duplex inverter, that has a flag with a photo sensor that detects the duplex unit is open/closed... Sneaky little bugger is a bit hidden, threw me off with the other two interlock switches. Once I realized it was there... Pretty easy to correct, 2 screws 1 harness the inverter section comes out, just had to pop the sensor back in place and a dab of super glue for good measure.
