MJ-1104 - Folding without stapling from PRINTING

Hey all, I have a question for you that's been wreaking havoc on me since forever. Does the MJ-1104 (specifically for 5540c/5560c/6570c) do booklet folding from the print driver WITHOUT saddle stitch stapling? I know you can COPY from the ADF and have it fold, but I can't ever seem to recall that being successful over multiple pages without getting an EAE0. We do know of the single page saddle stitch trick, but this is for multiple pages. So, 10 page Word document, 5 physical pages, can I just fold it?

I assume workflow from the driver would be select paper size, bind on short edge and just checkmark the fold option. Is there a firmware upgrade that would allow me to do this? I just need to know if it's even possible with the MJ-1104.

Not that I know of. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I believe from the print driver you can fold a single page without stapling.

Like you, I found a way to trick a bizhub 1052 with FS-532 and SD-510 into only folding a single page on multiple sets, but never could I get it to only fold multiple pages.

Essentially you set it up to fold and staple, then insert only one original. It scans the original then tells you to load the rest of the originals. You leave the original tray empty and press Start again. And Voila! It prints and folds the job but does not staple a single page. I could not figure a way to get it to do multiples. I think it's little copier brain doesn't quite know how to deal with my illogical request.

It would require special firmware I'd imagine. =^..^=

Just thought about it and wanted to ask, wouldn't the staples play an important role for keeping multiple pages together for correct folding when the folding roller drags them? I mean to a set over 20-30 pages.

You can't do more than 15 anyway. I haven't been able to test this on a 1104 but we did on a 1112, and it will fold and not staple booklets per the tech on site.
