How to cut printing time of some PDF files

I have a problem with printing some PDF files.
I get f.e. 50kB file and 40 sek of printing and other 50kB file with almost instant printing.
What is the difference and how to cut this time ?

You might try printing to the Post Script driver if you already are not. If that doesn't work and assuming you are printing from Acrobat Reader then when when you go to print in Reader click the Advanced button, there will be a check box that says "print as image" you might try this option. I have seen both of these fix problems with PDF printing, it just depends on the PDF. You might make it clear to the customer that the PS driver is actually something changing on the copier end, the "print as image" is changing how Reader sends the data to the driver. If it is a brand new 4520c series there is a slim PDF option, with an additional processing board, which is supposed to speed up slim PDF printing alot. I think this would probably only be viable if the customer prints a --ton-- of PDFs, though I could be wrong.

ornocova is right. Adobe applications prefer the PostScript driver.

The "Print as image" checkbox helps when you are sending large pdf files that time out, and lock up the network card. I don't think it will do anything for slow spooling.

The best possible option is a pdf direct print utility, if that's available to you. It prints a pdf without having to open the file.

Thank you both. Customer use PCL and PS3 drivers. It's not a spool problem. I see it's about processing the image. Little file is growthing to huge.
I will try to minimalize time with your advice.
