    es4540c Place originals in the document feeder

    Hello

    I know that I have seen this one before a couple of years ago but can not remember the answer. I have an es4540c the displays the message "es4540c Place originals in the document feeder" when I try to copy off of the glass. I have noticed that after turning the machine off and on I can copy off the glass until I use the feeder. Once I use the feeder I get the message. I think it might be one of the two sensors that see the adf but wanted some input before driving 2 hours to the customer. Thank you in advance for any help.

    Check the original detection sensor. If the mount gets bent, the flag will snag on the side of the valley:

    If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
