you should fire that Tech... I wouldn't allow MY customers to install their own firmware... too easy to brick a machine if you don't do it right.

Es355 has 2 different types of scanners. 3 or 4 wire or yellow or red dot.
Try updating firmware with scanner un checked.

i had the same problem when i updated the scanner with wrong firmware. you will need scanner update jig you cant fix it without it
