    Toshiba 2820c vertical banding

I was getting speckling near the edges on solid black prints, I took out the drum and found tiny spots of toner stuck to it, so I cleaned it, and that fixed that problem, but it is now printing with large vertical bands down the prints, perpendicular to the feed, which is worse than the speckling. The bands show almost blue, they're quite wide, about 2 inches wide, I'd almost say they were repeating, but they're hard to see clearly. And solid blocks of cyan and black print clear. Black and white prints are the worst. I've attached a photo of a couple of prints, the yellowish one has almost dirtyish bands of cyan running down it, any ideas? I've cleaned the slit glass. thanks

Could be light affected, may just need to be left overnight, could be main charge dirty, check the dev blade. Also you might have to pull the laser out and clean inside.

I would try to figure out the copy count on all 4 drums since the black drum was crusted with toner means they have been in there a long time
after 75k copies they get real bad

the black drum is over, at 132000 counts, and the other 3 are at 90,000, so I guess they could all use replacing.

for sure they are way over you can tell the customer they did well and got more for the buck but now its time to replace them they cost about 25 bucks for the drum and blade and I charge 160 for the kit X 4 is 640 and to make them feel better I give them free labor the parts have a great profit and the free labor makes you a hero its a win win

If you haven't got a relationship with a dealer You can get drums and blades from KATUN RTS imaging I'm sure Fleming will ship to NZ drums are about $45 AUD blades around $14. If replacing parts I'd do the black dev kit and black drum the dev will door more copies but at 120k might as well do a proper job going by samples best do it right.

Try this test pattern. It will tell me more:

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

the banding has settled down a bit this morning, it's still there slightly, but there's not much in it, instead I'm getting streaks of cyan right from the edge of the paper across the prints, and I think a faint tinge of cyan background across the whole sheet, making it look slightly dirty. It's noticable on solid yellow which prints dirty. The scanner had problems picking up the 10% printouts, so I photo-ed those ones.

I will replace the drums, but I could use a quick fix. Toshiba in NZ don't sell them anymore so I will have to get from Australia. I printed about 30 pages this afternoon and they were clear, the images looked crisp and fine. Then the blue streaks of toner started again. I've attached an image just of the toner streaks. I've cleaned the transfer belt blade, and the drum and the developer blade. blue streaks.jpg
