    2330c color smear

I've noticed when using Blackcat's very useful 10% color prints for the four colors, I will sometimes get a color smear, where the magenta can be seen as a thin cloud smear over the K page. It does it consistently, for a while, but then can stop. It's happened with other colors too, the Y on the K as well. Is there a usual reason that causes this? When it's doing it it will also show on any color print.

It sounds like overtoning to me. Perhaps time for some developer: yellow, magenta ... others?

Another possibility on a machine of this age is drum cleaning. As the neoprene blades get older they'll tend to pull away from the drum and turn brown. It's easy enough to observe the streaks on the drum (or drums). =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

You may want to take a look at the developer mag roller if it is smooth. Remove the developer material and using an abrasive pad, sand paper, or steel wool scuff up the mag roller in the long direction.

Additionally, keep in mind that unintentionally that 10% black halftone became composite black in the PDF conversion process. So any fault that you see in cyan, will appear in equal measure in the composite black halftone, since composite black has all four colors. =^..^=

Might be worth checking the erase lamps, they burn out on 2330c - 4520c / 2540cse - 4540cse range, they normally start by, half the row for a particular colour failing, then go completely.

03 output test mode, code 235 for black or 236 for CMY
