Which Enabler to get for a E-Studio 350

Hey guys, I have a Toshiba E-Studio 350 that I need to get an enabler for. How do I know which one to get i.e... 1010 2010 3010??

How do I know which GM I got?
Sorry about the Toshiba newb questions, but I just recently aquired the Toshiba line and I need some help. Thanks for your help..

The Scan Upgrade is if you already have the GM1010 and want to add scanning. In that case you would have two enablers. If you get the GM2010 then you don't need either of the other two.

Thank you very much. That did clear up a bunch of questions that I had. I don't think that anything has been enabled on this copier so I need to get the 2010. Thanks again

Oh, one more question. If I get the 2010, is it only good for one use or can I use it on more than one machine? Thanks again...

The enabler has to remain installed on the unit it is being used on. It looks like a USB thumbdrive and if you look near the NIC port on your machine there will be a small blindcover held on with one screw. Behind that blind cover is two USB ports. This is where then enabler must remain. The enabler will work on any 350 or 450, but like I say ... it has to remain on the machine which is being used as a printer/scanner.

If you have been in the computer bizz for more than a decade, you might remember the old dongals which were used to 'enable' software to prevent software from working on unautorized machines. These enablers are like dongals.

o.k, I see. So, it's not like downloading firmware and then your on your way. The USB drive has to stay connected to the controller.. gotcha. Now I feel stupid.....

Thanks again for clearing that up for me though.

Does the 1010, 2010, 3010 enablers go with all the Toshiba models i.e 350/450, 3511/4511, 351c/451c? Thanks again, George

No, those particular enablers are only for the 350 and 450. All the other models you mentioned are color models. Color models do NOT require an enabler. They are network ready out of the box.
