    Toshiba Update Problem

I'm new to this forum and posting procedures in general, so please forgive my etiquette ignorance.

I'm having a similar problem with a estudio4511 as and have received the firmware update from Baphomet. As background info, I just installed a new drive. Performed the 03 3 and then the 08 690 and the copier works fine, but will not network and will not perform any of the user function print commands.

I've tried installing the firmware update via thumb drive with Fat Formatting, according the the instructions in this forum and per the manual, and the screen is stuck in the update mode and reads "Please wait...now Initialization". I can't seem to get past this.

    I could use any help.

I use an older USB device to update 3511.
There is a compatibility list of devices tested by Toshiba.
Mine is a 256 Mb Lexar.

You are not waiting long enough. It take between 15 and 20 minutes for the display to show your options.

    Toshiba 4511

It is still stuck. Any thoughts other than a different thumb drive?

Use another thumb drive. I have 5 thumb drives from 256mb up to 2gb and only 2 will flash a Toshiba. Also the sandisk has a program( something called U3) on it that can mess up the boot process required to install the firmware.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

With everyones help the problem is solved, so far, I think. This is what I had to do. 1st off I missed step one which was to install the ROM 1st and only to update the OS. After which I tried the other files per the instruction. I removed the ROM and included the whole folder and the same problem happened. 3rd I tried just putting on the files that were in the update folder excluding the folder on the USB Drive and tried again. Same problem it would get hund up and the light would go out on the usb, and yes I waited and waited, which is hard for me to do. So I then decided to gamble and just put the files labeled 1-4 and the sysfirm on the USB and give it a shot. I only had the option to update the HDD and there were no other options available, so I went for it. The system updated the HDD with the 4 files and when copy/start showed up on the screen I powered down, removed the drive and started it back up. IT WORKS. Hopefully it will stay that way. I may be missing something but the finisher and the color is responsive when trying to print. I will continue to test the other options. But I'm far better off now than I was.

I want to thank everyone who helped. Much appreciated.
