Rep Power: 5 | First off, confirm that the cable between the SYS and SLG isn't pinched, broken, or otherwise molested.
Re-install or update the firmware. If the update fails at any point, replace the component associated with the failure, ie; scanner failed then replace the SLG board.
However, the firmware might take care of the issue.

Rep Power: 0 | Friendly reminder Remember to only replace one board at a time. They are serialized & need to write to each other for counterfeit protection.

Rep Power: 6 | it's the 5.1v supply too low. chances are this is happening when using the RADF by any chance? when the voltage is too low ( which is a known issue ) the radf times out when scanning originals through & throws up an F111 error, also there are some modified ruby sensors for the MR3018, but you can cut out the windows that the 2 ruby eyes look through this will stop most of the F111, but it's only compensating for the low 5.1v supply.
you can measure the supply on the rear of the RADF, with the back panel off it, put your meter on one of the yellow wires & obviously on to earth, if the reading is below 5.1, look at the metal cover on the machine's power supply. it has 2 round holes, if you look through each, there's a variable pot. make sure to adjust the one on the left ( when looking from rear of m/c ) it sits just above a coil, so you must have an insulated flat blade screwdriver! or you'll blow up the machine & probably yourself. turn the pot anti-clockwise ( to increase the voltage ) very very slightly, it only takes a tiny movement to alter the voltage quite a bit.
this 5.1v supply can also cause intermitant C550 errors btw.
hope it helps. | | |

Now leaning to power supply. I've checked the 5.1v. It happens off glass as well as adf. After reseating all power supply connectors the machine worked for 10 minutes and popped a f-111 again. Moved machine to dedicated power source and same thing! Any ideas?!?

Rep Power: 8 | Good info Mckinely. I have a couple sensors I had cut the windows out in I keep in my bag in case I am out of a new one. Haven't had to use one yet, but good to hear you have had success with it. Thanks for the tip on the 5V supply I had not seen this yet and will try to remember it.

Rep Power: 2 | I have the same problem too. But is only in the morning that this happens, when he turn on the machine and start's to work with the scanner.
Sometimes instead of giving f111 it gives c550. The strange thing is that only occurs in the first's times in the mornig, and it isn't every day.

Rep Power: 6 | It's power supply, there is bulletin on MR-3018 and e281c but errors are the same. Adjust 5V as per McKinley or replace power supply board.
