Toshiba E-Studio 203L Feed Unit (Installing)

Hi Everyone,
I'm very new to the forum, and I've found it very helpful along my travels. As I have primarily been working with Ricoh Family Group products, I often times struggle with Toshiba products. I'm particularly having issues with an E-Studio 203L. For some reason, the previous techician installed the 2nd tray feed unit into the 3rd tray slot. According to the customer, it never did feed from the 2nd tray since install. I would like to move the 2nd tray feed unit to the appropriate spot, but I'm wondering if there's a mode that I need to enter for this to be successful. Any and all info is helpful. I can't seem to find anything usefull on the fyi.toshiba.com website.

Thanks,
Gabe

You can swap feed units all day long.. assuming you are talking about the piece that comes out and has your P/U, Feed, Sep tires, clutch on the back and several sensors. (one screw, comes out with the drawer out??) If you are talking about that then yes... you can swap it no problems. Make sure the tires are not wore or the one way bearings aren't slipping. Make sure the displayed paper size on the screen matches what is loaded in the tray, if not go to userFunctions, drawer and change it. HTH

yea basically you pop out the tray and there is one screw on the right side front in a hole in the frame and you just reach in and pop out the feed unit.got to make sure it is all the way in when reinstalling so the screw hole that holds it in is flush on the frame.

sometimes if a tech don't have a feed kit or don't want to put more than one in,he will switch feed units so the one with better rollers is in where they pull from the most.or on some there is clear mylar strips across the feed unit that can interfere with certain size media or orientations more than others.some have the mylar on the upper feed and not the lower.

Hi,
Thanks for the fast responses. I'm aware that the feed units are pretty easily swapped with each drawer. But if you remove/install a feed unit, does it automatically activate/deactivate it? A good example would be removing tray two from a copier and only having one. It still seems to display something in place of tray 2 even though it's not there (or perhaps it's just a label).

Thanks,
Gabe

Hi Gabe.
Answer is yes. You need no software switch to trigger when swapping, removing or installing them (fortunately).
