Turning paper blue?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what might be turning all of the paper i print blue? It's like a light speckled blue that covers the whole sheet whether I use blue ink or not. I have tried replacing just about every part in the machine (fuser, transfer belt, drums, etc) and it still seems to do it...I am wondering if it is some sort of setting when adding new parts, or maybe where the machine is using more toner than the cleaning blade is cleaning or something like that? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Machine model # pls n thx... does it do it in black only mode too?

oops! Toshiba 311c. I believe that it was doing it in black only mode as well.... I've replaced about all of the insides from my other 311's and I've gotten it to turn the paper red...or blue....or one time red and blue stripes....It does this on white paper...colored paper....through colored ink.....etc.

This banding? From front to back or lead to trail edge? Or is it backgrounding?

Banding is usually caused by a poor drum ground @ the front of the imaging assy. There are little ground plates, that the drum shafts ride on.. remove, clean and reinstall with new conductive grease.. helps greatly.

what about if its backgrounding? I have one machine that was banding along the edge, so I will try your advice above...but I have another machine that is backgrounding...like covering the whole sheet of paper with faint blue speckles...or marbelizing (hard to explain)...and the more copies i make,the darker the blue gets on the background.

Typically on this model, backgrounding is either caused by overtoning or even dev that's worn out.. and we all know what a fun procedure it is to change dev on one of these beasts. I've seen blades fail as well. lead to trail "airbrushed lines" are usually worn out wires/grids..

Thanks for the help! I really appreciate it. Any chance there is a simple way to set the machine to stop overtoning? I am thinking that that might be what it is doing...

Not specifically, there are modes to run the auto-toner (without filling) adjustment but that can't be used to de-tone, you;d have to run sky shots with an empty toner bottle and perform an auto-toner b4 it asks for toner to set a new level.. not recommended on those machine, they're very fussy when it comes to stuff like that! Safer to change the req dev material and start from there.
