One of the good features of this machine is that you scan to the HDD of the copier and then retrieve the scan by going to the copiers SMB store where the scans are kept.

This stops the requirement of having to install software on every PC / MAC that you want scanning capabilities on. And for ease of use, you could then create a mapped network drive for your users that points to the HDD on the copier.

I'm a bit rusty with the this works, but it should go something similar to below.

On the copier:
Job Status / Network (I think that is the button to push)
Scan
Scan to File (Can't remember if you then have to select the local share)

You should then be able to change scan settings as required and press Start or Scan to scan in your documents.

On your PC:
Start
Run
\\ipaddressofthecopier\file_share\

On your MAC:
Go
Connect to Server
smb://ipaddressofcopier/file_share

You don't require any software to perform this function.

Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.
