Setting a user to scan on Toshiba eStudio 523

I am trying to set a user up on the eStudio 523, but I am unable to. Does anyone have instructions on how this is done? (I did locate a manual on setting up a user for the KM 3050, and that was straight to the point. Thanks for that!) Can anyone please help me?

Yes, it does. Some people are able to scan and others are not.

Are the current users scanning by pressing the Template button? If so you can register new users in "TopAccess" which you access by typing the copiers IP into your web brower... Then go to Registration and you will be able to see the current templates and create new ones. You should be able to figure out what to setup by looking at the current ones.
If you are scanning via home directory, i.e. each user logs in just as they would their desktop computer, then you will probably have to get your sys admin involved.
If you are scanning to e-mail you can also add e-mails under topaccess>registration>address book.

Hope this helps...

Yes. I am using the templates set on the printer, but when I tried to modify a user's template, it still wouldn't scan to his file. I changed it to appear exactly as one that works with a few exceptions. (Name, computer number, etc...)

The biggest problem I find with scanning to file, desktop is passwords. I usualy have the IT admin establish a user just for the MFP that has a password that does not expire and user cannot change. I add this user to all folders that I need to scan to (full permissions) and use this account to fill in the fields for user name/password. After everything has been created, I backup the data for future use if needed. Ed

What is the error code when the scan fails? go into Job Status-Logs-Scan, and see what the code is.
