That means that the main and backup counter do not match. Either someone replaced the nvram, sys pwb or was playing around with the counter.

Check total counter msg

This is a normal msg when sys/slg bds are swapped. Perform 08/257 to move the counter value from the slg to sys or sys to slg, whichever is the correct count. The service handbook has a step by step instruction for replacing boards HDD NVRAM ect..Also, to save your self a headache, swap only one board at a time..if it did not fix the problem put the old board back and perform the steps listed in the handbook before going to the next board. If you puuling the boards from a working machine to trouble shoot, make sure you do the same on this machine also. Ed

Someone had already mess your sys board before u get to know this issue....the e-counter no matching...that's where u get that word when u enter svc mode. 08-257 find the larger number to be copied it's safer by that choice.

I disagree..especially if you are billing this customer by copy counts. Assuming the larger number is not correct, may get you a screaming customer asking why they are getting charged overages for copies they did not make, or worse,(from the service provider side) if you use the lower number, they now have an artificially low number and now aren't getting billed at all. Use the counter that matches the true meter count. Ed

I usually just go by what is in the User Functions count, which doesn't always alighn with the 08-257 counts, which don't always exactly align with each other. Check with your office to be sure you are setting the right count however.
