Error C 550,C280 in e studio 282 ( DP-2320)

Dear friends,

Iam facing a prob with estudio 282 the error code is C 550,if i disconnect RADF C280 is showing. i doubt on SLG board wat do you say.

scanner motor ,scanner lamp and RADF components not working in check mode 03.

is it a firmware issue?

kindly help me in thius matter,thanks in advance

The C550 error is a communication problem between the RADF and the SLG bd. The C280 is a peak error detect problem. The C550 goes away when you unplug the RADF since it is no longer there. Now you start getting C280s. Does the lamp light at power on? If not I would suspect the inverter board. If it does light, I would suspect a bad SLG board since it throws the C550 code when the RADF is plugged in. I have seen the harness (double sided, about 20 pins) go bad and cause comm errors. I would try a firmware reload 1st to possibly save some $$$. Ed

You can do a eprom reset on these RADF

Dunno about the RADF, but one thing I have seen cause 280s is the small ribbon cable going to the inverter board develop cracks/breaks after a while... check that out too.

First do a 05-356 EEprom initialize first then follow by 05-367 ( Min ) 05-368 ( Max ) RADF Guide Calibration then only try to reload firmware.

and one more thing , did this prolem cause by you plug in the radf connector while the machine is ON or u plug in the wrong model RADF ?

If connect radf connector and switch on the machine error C550 is showing,if i remove radf connector and switch on the machine C280 is showing.

As emujo has said,
start with the C280 error code which most likely from the harness cable or from the lamp.
go to test mode 03-267 as i do remember.

if the lamp is working then proceed to SLG and the other staff.
if you get the machine working without feeder then you can rightfully diagnose the feeder problem.

Id go with the ribon cable. Much more likely to be a physical fault than an electronic one and most likely cause of lamp not coming on.

Thanks for ur replies and help.finally its a rat bitten case.i found a harness bitten by rats which leads to scanner home position sensor,scanner motor and radf interface board.i fix the problem.
