E Studio 450 Added folder during scan to network share
I have a E-Studio 450 MFP. I set up group templates that scan to a network share. However it will not scan to the root of the folder. It adds a folder like GROUP_TEMPLATE_000 or somthing like that but I cannot find out how to set it to the root folder.

You are not scanning to a network shared folder, you are simply directing the scanned images to the MFP shared HDD. You have to go into TopAccess/Admin/save as file settings/ and modify where the scan templates can be routed to. You have 3 choices, Remote 1, 2, SMB Share. In this area you can check off the "Allow users to modify scan" or something like this (not looking at one at the moment). By default, the MFP scans to it's own HDD. Ed

It does scan to a network
It does scan to a network share actually an FTP server on the Windows 2003 server that is the network share for stored faxes. The problem is the customer wants the scan to go into a separate folder for each user. for instance
\\BDCDATA\DATA\SCANS\USER1
\\BDCDATA\DATA\SCANS\USER2
All have to be preprogrammed with a one touch scan button. I setup a separate public group template that does this through scan to file then FTP ( I had trouble authenticating with SMB) with user1, user2 subfolders for each template. However it winds up going to
\\BDCDATA\DATA\SCANS\USER1\000-PUBLIC_TEMPLATE_GROUP_USER1
\\BDCDATA\DATA\SCANS\USER1\000-PUBLIC_TEMPLATE_GROUP_USER2
I want to get rid of the last folder.
I will check to save to file option under the admin. If there is a better way to do this I am open to suggestions

Save As file setting
You have to login as the admin in the webpage for the copier. Under setup, there is a "save as file" option. Select that, and the first setting will be a setting for a storage folder, set it to "Store files directly in the storage path" and save it.
