    Toshiba ES3500 Fuser Error C488

    Hi there.

We have 2 ES3500 coming up with the error code C448. We have tried all sorts to resolve this. has anyone had this same error codes? Both are in quite large industrial shops with huge equipment. We have installed power filters on each site, but the error is still happening. And also on one of the sites they have 2 of these machines. One is not having any issues at all, so we swapped the fusers around to see if it was an issue with the fuser it's self. But the same error message would still occur on the problem machine!

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks

    Isaac

Flash to the latest firmware--at least version 314--It happens after a fuser jam and the customer clears it. 08 400 will be a high number. Flash 314 and above should correct this. It used to have a few machines do it every couple a weeks.

    Try following

    3. Clear the status counter
After repairing the matter which caused the error [C448], perform the following:
    (1) Turn the power ON while [0] and [8] are pressed simultaneously.
    (2) Key in "400", then press the [START] button.
    (3) Change the displayed current status counter value "32" to "0", then press [ENTER] or [INTERRUPT]
    (to cancel C448).
    (4) Turn the power OFF and then back ON. Make sure that the equipment enters the normal status.

Sorry for the delayed reply, was the weekend =D!

We are very familiar with 08:400, it sets it to a sub code that Toshiba is not even familiar with, an unused number in the manual.

There is def no paper in the fuser, is running the latest firmware. Toshiba themselves are coming to have a look at it some time this week, so I will let you know the outcome.

But any more suggestions would be great thanks.

    thermopiles

I have seen bad thermopiles cause this problem. They are in the machine, under a plate beneath the fuser. We have needed to replace these on 2 or 3 different machines.
