eStudio 280 warmup problem

I've got an eStudio 280 that keeps saying "Wait-warming up".

The fuser is definitely hot. (burned me!) It never goes to "ready".I don't think it's a thermal fuse because it gets hot.

I normally do Ricoh family machines and Kyocera and don't know much about Toshiba.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest the hard drive format and if it comes back to replace the hard drive. To replace the hard drive you will need the firmware to put back on the machine.

It might not be the hard drive. If the hard drive goes bad, it usually hangs at the splash screen or locks up at "network initializing." The problem I have run across on these models is the power supply. The voltage being fed to the fuser for the thermistors will not be correct, and the machine will hang at "Warming Up" yet never code out. If the thermistors test out ok, replace the power supply.

do something wider.... straight away load new firmware no need change anything...then only do a hdd check 08-694 , if there is any bad on it...then change the whole HDD...
do some work may save some money. hehe

Here's my 2 cents...The 280 has lamps, not IH coil. In fact, it has 2 lamps, 1 heats middle, and 1 heats outer edges of UFR. My guess is one of your lamps is not coming on. If it's not a burned out lamp, it's the switching regulator that controls the lamp. Bad news... requires LGC bd replacement. The fuser is meeting the requirements for warming up ( certain temp within certain time frame) but since both lamps aren't coming on it never fully heats up. If I remember correctly, the edge temp thermister only shuts off the lamp when temp exceeds 230 degrees, but the actual fuser overheating codes come from the center thermistor. This would explain why you are not getting an error code. Ed

Do a 08 / 690 enter 2 then it will tell you to reboot.
This will format the HDD and solve if it is this.

Me thinks you have a fuser problem.

Aloha all.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I was wondering if one of you could please give me the procedure to get into the service mode. Best solution, I guess woud be to get a copy of the service manual. I'd be willing to trade for any Kyocera, Konica Minolta, or Ricoh family machines.

I have only this one lone Toshiba eStudio 280 and don't plan on doing any more. I appreciate your help.
