    e280 & scanning

    i have a e280 and i am looking at getting a print/scan enabler dongle.
my old scanner that i had at home enabled me to scan documents in OCR to enable me to enter information as required.

can i do something similar with the scan kit.
i read somewhere somethign to do wiht ebridge but my knowledge is limited with that

    thanks

You can scan to pdf or tiff and then run your ocr program to be able to edit it. If you can get a copy of a program called re-rite then you set up a scan folder for the machine to scan to and the re-rite program monitors this folder and ocrs and convert this file to the format of your choice.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

IF your willing to send the $1000 for re-rite, I would recommend instead investing in the full version of Acrobat. You can scan the images as PDF to your desktop and use Acrobat to distill the image. Plus good luck finding re-rite anywhere. The Ebridge products (at least 1-3) were not capable of making searchable/editable PDFs on their own. EMujo
