1710

Knowing your jam code will really help.....press clear and 8... code will start with an E...............The code # will narrow it down so you won't waste time looking in the wrong place...Wow..1710..obsoleted by toshiba a long time ago

thanks tech07, I'll try flashing the error codes. I tried cleaniing all the rollers I could find on the side of the machine behind the doors, the hard plastic ones, and the soft rubber like wheels, with windex. Still get red paper jam light on that wont clear. I looked everywhere inside that machine without taking it apart, no paper.

lets be honest here the machine is old ... as a tech i would check error codes , but as it is an old machine and i want it fixed let just replace the feed rollers and replace/clean the feed clutches. if you are not sure how to do this you need a manual. once you get the manula if you are still unsure how to do this i would decide if this machine is worth a service call from a tech or not as it is old and would cost a bit to repair. then you have to ask yourself once the paper is feeding is the copy quality good enough to warrant this repair and if it is not very good then it would need more parts ... see where i am going here? feed roller are relativly cheap.. probably get them from precision roller's web site but while you are there pricce out other things like pcu fuser parts etc and see if you still want to put money in this thing

Thanks fireater for the info. I got an error code E5 out of it today, mean anything? meanwhile, I'm going to search for a manual.

errror code paper stop just before drum..... u sure ther is no paper in the path? sound like a registration clutch..... or paper is not reaching registration roller..... as i stated before... prolly needs tires and all the clutches clean/replaced... also check to see if reg roller turns and it should prolly be pulled out cleaned (and its ckutch cleaned/replaced) as wellthe grease gets old on the bushings and they get stiff and then the clutch gets old and worn and slips........ cleaning the clutches and riollers and bushings makes em work like near new... it just take time to do the work there will prolly be no shortcuts...
