    Toshiba e-studio 161 fault E7-16

I have this error in this copier; its an old unit, and the manual tells me it's "abnormal laser output" and the replacement solution is MCU PWB. What I am asking for is: does any one have a suggestion as to what I can do before I order this PCB? Pse help.

    Shomyx,

Yeah I have checked the operation of the polygon mirror in laser unit, by simulations 25-10 and 61-03. The mirror rotates. Pse give me another suggestion.

i would take laser out first and check the mirrors for dust.... then if it is clean sub in a laser from another machine for testing...... these machines dont usually blow boards.... but lasers have been known to go in the newer models from sharp
    I fix copiers ...Well Sorta

Check visually for dust and clean. If it doesn't help change polygon motor module.
