    E-Studio 450 E-020 jams

Multi copy runs I get jams with the E-020 error.
Paper exits fuser, partialy enters the bridge unit and jams.
Makes a strange noise when it does this. Paper hits nothing.
Its like the paper is being pulled into the bridge unit but has not been fully
released by the delivery into the bridge. Paper is clear of the fuser.
    Seems like a sensor/timing issue.

You find two pieces of paper over lapped. The one entering the bridge
unit that jammed and the other comming up threw the fuser unit.

    anyone?

Check the exit sensor. It can stick. I've seen them swell up causing it to stick causing this problem.

Exit sensor as it leaves the fuser? The one mounted on the door?
We have very few Toshibas left in the field as were Canon, Sharp and HP dealers. These are remnents of a previous aquisition. You may have to identify where the sensor is located. If you would please.
    Thanks

Yes Sir it is in the Door right up on de Fuser Exit. This thing swells up from Fuser heat and cause ths Problem.Another is the Exit Motor the motor drive move the Exit Rollers failt and that spell the noise when jamming swep the motor and try another one.
    Thats all
    Good Luck

I have seen this on the e-Studio45 but only when duplexing, the solenoid on the bridge unit that diverts the 1st side down partially into the lower tray sticks causing the paper to enter the bridge where it stops and the next sheet runs into it in the fuser.
Just clean the solenoid plunger and may have to remove or replace the "cushion" on the plunger.

I've got a eS453 with these symptoms. E020 and E910 jams. If I remove the finisher and bridge, it's E020, and the exit roller stalls and makes the noise. Here's the list of new parts:

    Exit roller
    Exit idlers
    Exit bushings
    Exit sensor
1/2 addition wrap on the return spring
Two new exit motors with harness

Usually it's the exit sensor or motor that solves this issue.
As a desperation measure I've ordered up the logic board.
Perhaps the voltages are sagging on the power supply?
    What have I missed? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Re: E-Studio 450 E-020 jams

The logic board and power supply did not help. My customer is getting a loaner. I also pinned out the wiring from the motor to the logic board. I suppose there is a remote possibility that there is a 24 load dragging down the 24vdc at the motor, but I was monitoring the 24vdc at the power supply and it stays solidly at 24.9vdc before, during, and after the motor stalls. I'm going to find a dark corner to shove this old POS.

Did I miss anything obvious? =^..^=

Check also the 2 metal shafts that hold the small exit rollers where it will get sticky thus affecting the exit roller...Usually I clean it with thinner~~~

Thanks for considering my issue. Those idlers are shafts are new. =^..^=
