This is not a message but equivalent to "add toner" Usually it is the microswitch for the toner door, the metal actuator gets bent or the actuator on the door is broken.

This message is very obvious that when you use other manufacturer's laser toner cartridge than it will show this message as every toner has its own identity and toner cartridges are designed as per the printer model. You should always the same make and model of laser toner cartridges for your printer. Although you can get remanufactured toner cartridges that are very cheap and also works good.

As a follow up to Merry's post...genuine Toshiba toner bottles have a protusion that actuates a microswitch in the hopper. If the switch is not actuated you get the use genuine toshiba toner message (or something similar). It makes no differance for copying purposes. I belive the aftermarket toner companies are not allowed to make their bottles exactly the same way. As long as the customer is happy with CQ, don't worry about it. Emujo
