    Toshiba estudio 550 shuts off

Copier shuts off only a few seconds after you turn the power on.

Probably a blown thermo fuse and/or fuse holder in the fuser unit, don't forget to reset 08 400.
I have also had a blown IH board do this.

Yea .. I was thinking fuser also but no time to enter service mode to reset codes and no code comes up when machine shuts off breaker so quickly. Any suggestions? Would door open help?

In this case, you need to leave front door open when restting code..08/400. After code is reset, re-apply power with door still open. If power remains on until you shut the door, then you probably have a blown IH board and/or IH coil. If power trips before door shuts, then poblem lies elsewhere.. power supply maybe. You'de have to look at the timing charts to figure out the sequence of events. Sometimes you have to pull connectors from the LGC bd 1 by 1 to isolate the componant that has gone bad..ie developer motor or fuser drive motor. Emujo

That exactly the push in the right direction that I needed. Much appreciated. Giving you rep power for your effort.

Ok more info now-------met with one of my guys and he replaced the fuser rollers a week ago. Unit worked fine for a couple of days & then began to shut down infrequently. This became worse until the power began shutting off after a couple seconds (our current problem) . Just dissassembled unit & fuses , thermistors , etc.. test ok. If door is open the power does not shut off coupled with the fact that my guy had just worked on the fuser so our trouble is in that area of the machine. IH board (part# ?) or IH coil (part#6LA05236000) looking more like the source of the trouble.

Some other causes since you mention fuser was just worked on...Paper dust in fuser/frame side connectors causing thermistors to mis read. Lower thermistor is being pinched by rear cover of fuser (covers drive gears). LFR is not riding correctly in the bearing holders causing uneven heating. Incorrect screws (too long) used to secure IH coil harness cables and they are digging into PWB. 16 pin connector on IH board not fully seated (pulls out when cover is pushed too far down. All connectors are color coded, but not tech proof..re-check all 5. If you can find another fuser to test with, at least you can rule out LGC bd issue. Some times, the error code can point you in the right direction. Follow SM for discription of what each sub-code means. Thanks for rep power. Emujo

Also check/change main power switch. Do You have external LCF connected? If Yes disconnect and check if it the problem. Do the same with the rest of the options if there are some. Check cables to HDD especially power one.
