You need to set the gmail account to relay (search for outlook express setup instructions) Follow these and you should be good to go. Also use the ssl port (485 I think).
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

    Maybe this will also help.

Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

Do a search of the Toshiba forum. There are several in depth discussions on how to successfully Scan to Email via Gmail. 1st hint, Port 25 will never work.

I suggest you create your own house Gmail account for the Service Dept and apply it to your customers. Of course, this means to your savy customers that you can read their emails, not that you want to. It is the customers responsibility to contact their ISP and create their own unique email account.

Or you can create a Gmail account "on the fly" for the customers location and forget the passwords. Not hard to forget, there are so many.

Xerox On Site Tech support will not configure this. They will say it is not covered under Professional Services and it is up to the customers IT provider to create scan to email. Billable labour for Xerox, of course.

    Gmail:
SSL Start TLS, Accept all without CA
    smtp.gmail.com
    username@gmail.com
    password
    login or auto
    NO pop before
    port 587
don't forget to put DNS servers in or just ping smtp.gmail.com and use that ip without DNS.
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.
