Yeah, we used to send extra color developers to customers for on hand consumables until we saw the price... the color pm kit for this model is 600 and that is mostley the cost of the developers. I used to replace the developer when one of my 3510s started "Tiger Striping" and now if it isn't close to the PM cycle, I will just add enough to get it back to normal. One bottle of Magenta will get 3 stations back to normal. Now you can see why the cost per copy is around 10c per page on these boxes. Emujo
If you look at the MSDS sheets as far as I can tell 281C and 2500C Developer have the same contents. And yes, they do work Less volume in a 281c developer bottle but it works great for what emujo is talking about and he's right just top those suckers off and clean out the charges. The quality stays really nice, no different than if you do a full PM in my opinion.
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.
This is great, so you just add the developer to the color thats fading and good to go? or do you run calibration as well?
Just add, run the CQ adjustments if quality looks off, but dont do a developer stir as this will tell the MFP the developer is new and may cause problems. Wait until you do actual replacement before resetting counts. Just like the garage I used to work at...top the oil off and charge the customer for the whole bottle. Emujo
