I am unfamiiar with how to scan directly to a folder from the copier to a Mac OSX. Is it the same procedure as SMB scanning?

On the Mac, you will need to go to the System Preferences and then to Sharing. Once there, you will then have the options to enable SMB or Windows sharing as I think it is called from memory. Once that is enabled, you can then share folders via SMB and the setup on the copier remains the same as doing it for a Windows environment.
The other option avaiable is to scan to the HDD of the copier and retrieve the scans from there. You can connect a mapped network drive to the copier similar to a Windows machine:
1. On the Mac, Press Go
2. Click on Connect to Server
3. Enter in smb://hostname/file_share or smb://ipaddress/file_share
4. If you get requested for a username and password, I think you can just leave that blank and it should be fine or try admin and 123456
5. You should now get a new icon on the desktop which is the mapped network drive.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.
I was able to create the Shortcut to the File Share. Do you know in Mac OSX 10.7.2 latest if there is the ability to rename the Shortcut and change the Icon picture? Thx!
No I don't sorry as I don't have a Mac running Lion to test with.
I'm sure a quick Google search will help to answer your question though.
